William Hollingsworth Whyte (1917 - 12 Jan 1999)
a West Chester native born
and raised in the north end of the borough. He was a prolific and
nationally known writer and researcher. In 1956 he published the
bestseller "The Organization Man", a groundbreaking study of the
relationship between large corporations and their executive employees.
