a prominent legal family in Chester County with three generations of judges and lawyers, including The Honorable Thomas S. Gawthrop, Chief Judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Chester County, The Honorable Robert S. Gawthrop, III, United States Judge for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and Robert S. Gawthrop, Jr., founder of one of the oldest law firms still operating in the County and a long time member of the Board of Directors at The Oaklands Cemetery.
